She has a wide variety of knowledge in various conditions and populations; however, she is most passionate about the geriatric population, specifically stroke rehab. She started her career in the Skilled Nursing setting but thinks it’s important to be a well-rounded therapist and work in a variety of settings. She chose to become a PTA because she loves helping people and knows how difficult it is when patients are unable to perform the activities they enjoy. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys playing softball, disc golf, hiking, watching movies, and randomly bursting out in song/dance for anyone around.

Julia Johnson, PTA, became a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2018 graduating from Colby Community College. She was born and raised in Kansas and moved to New Mexico in 2018 to pursue her career as a PTA. Julia has an array of background knowledge throughout various populations from pediatric to geriatric. She focuses on utilizing the knowledge and experiences gained throughout her career creating a dynamic tailored treatment approach for the individual patient. A great mentor once told her “the patient is not just an injury, but a person with an injury”. This quote she strives to live by daily throughout every treatment session.

Outside of the clinic, she is academically advancing towards her Bachelor of Science at Eastern New Mexico University. Her passion for Physical therapy continues on as she would like to advance towards a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with an emphasis in orthopedics and sports management.
